Gastflugzeuge Koninklijke Luchtmacht – UFO

© Marcus Herbote D-8062 und D-8084 F-104G "UFO", Gütersloh (23.08.1984) Approaches of KLu Starfighters were legendary. Most of the times they did some missed appoaches before finally touching down. The howling J79 engine offered a great soundtrack during this spectacle. Here two F-104G with "UFO" markings applied and flown by 312Sqn pilots wait for the take off clearance. In the background you can see NF-5A K-3016 of 314Sqn.

© Marcus Herbote D-5804 TF-104G and D-8331 F-104G "UFO", Gütersloh (30.10.1984) The last Netherlands Air Force Starfighter operated in a mixed unit called UFO. Pictured here ready for Take-Off on Runway 09 is a mix of two of these "Unknown Flying Objects" during their last visit to RAF Gütersloh.
